Trees & Landscape Ketubah Gallery
The ketubbot in the trees and landscape section celebrate the natural world and a couple's relationship with nature. Because Judaism is a cyclical religion with many of its holidays and rituals tied to the seasons, natural images are potent Jewish symbols in a ketubah. The Torah is referred to as the Tree of Life; there are seven species of plants mentioned in the Torah, and there is the frequent use of water as a symbol of purity, justice and renewal. Some of the katuba designs reflect these Jewish symbols while others might be based on a landscape that is emotionally significant to the bride and groom. The ketuba illumination might also reflect the season in which the wedding takes place.
