Figurative Ketubbot
The Jewish wedding contracts in this gallery are inspired by the paintings of Marc Chagall with his use of floating images in fields of color. These ketubahs are mixed media --acrylic paint, oil pastel, and watercolor are built up in successive layers then scratched back into. Each ketubah is designed using personal symbols and colors chosen by the bride and groom. The ketubbot often include Shabbat candlesticks, the bride and groom under the huppah, menorah, kiddush cup, Shabbat table, and the Tree of Life. The ketubot in this gallery incorporate fantasy, romance, and are less formal than a traditional katubah.
